RE: Year List 2008

I got to add Cedar Waxwing to my list today! Wonderful. I got to see them quite close, too--about ten feet away from me Icon_biggrin . It has been quite cold here, around -4 degrees Celsius. Brrrr....

RE: Year List 2008

Had a disappointing morning on the yearlist front. Went to Helston to see the Ring-billed Gull, it wasn't there. Had a look for Yellowhammers at a few usual haunts. They weren't there. Went to St Gothian Nature Reserve to see the Little Gull. That had gone too!! Managed one more though as i stopped to check out a sillouhette on top of a bush. It turned out to be a male Branmbling! So back on 105 species again!

RE: Year List 2008

STOOP, where do you live? Not being funny but can't imagine how you have Swallow AND Swift AND sedge warbler AND house Martin at this time of year mate! They are all summer migrants. Also the Willow Warbler/chiffchaff is more than likely a Chiffchaff. Lots over wintering these days.

Is this the total of the birds you have seen? Sorry i think i may have crossed my wires. Thought this was your 2008 year list.

Two more today. Golden Plover and Water Rail. 108 now. You can read more on my blog. Kernowbirder Diaries.

All three divers
Black necked Grebe
Little Gull
HUMES LEAF WARBLER
GLAUCOUS GULL
ICELAND GULL
WATER PIPiT
Balearic Shearwater
CATTLE EGRET (lots)
