Wimbledon

Has anyone been watching the tennis this year? (on the odd accoasion when its not been raining)

I can't see anyone but Federer or Nadal winning it, and my money is on Federer. Its nice to see Tim having an exciting match though, brings back the memories!

Its disappointing that Murray wasn't able to play this year, but I suppose he's get many more years to look forward to.

My prediction is Federer too, but I'd like to see someone else win for a change!

What do you think for the women? My prediction is Henin, but it is probably a lot more open than the mens.

It is very embarrassing. Even the usually calm Henman has criticised the younger players for not putting the effort in training and for taking the help they get for granted. I think he may be right, I saw a few of the younger players and they really didn't seem to have the hunger for the game.

Yes, but you know, sports have a tendency to go in spurts. There will be a period when a Bjorn Borg will mow down his competitors, then....nothing...for a few years.

Thats absolutely true, although it seems to drag on for a long time when its in a slump. I have high hopes for andy murray but who knows whether he will ever live up to the huge expectations put on him by the success starved media.

Does this mean you will not bother to watch Sir Elton and Rod Stewart performing for the Diana concert either Tongue ?

It's a good thing this is already in the Off Topic forum!

Just like me! Work hours are 8.05 pm until 4.35 am. At least I don't have a rotating shift start time, but I don't watch much television either. Actually, I can't remember the last time I did...however, it is coming up on the Tour de France, and I will try to watch some of that.

Well it's been a bit of a disappointing wimbledon overall for me with not Brits in it but I'm watching the Nadal-Federer final and its a brilliant match! My moneys on Nadal in the last deciding set but who knows.
