Congratuations to all three of you and also a big thanks to everyone who entered this year. If you'd like to know your score then please contact Jamie.
As you know, this was Jamie's last month running the competition so a huge thank you to him from everyone at the forum. He's run the competition brilliantly and I'm sure you'll agree it's been a big success.
There will be no January competition this year but hopefully we should have something sorted for February.
.......This is the best of the pics from the woods yesterday.. not as impressive as some on this thread, although its the coldest I`ve known it here (N.Staffs) in the 24yrs I`ve lived up here! The woods reminded me of Narnia, very frosty.. snow was blowing on my lens a lot tho` ... the lakes were frozen solid, with the mallards slipping and sliding all over the place!

Ps. Isn`t it hard work walking in the snow? Felt like wading through custard... not that I`ve ever walked through custard!!!!

I see that Derbyshire still Does not exist according to the BBC!! No mention on the news this morning.
From last nights page on "Buxton Weather" http://www.buxtonweather.co.uk/
Status Report @ 07.45 Tuesday - No more snow overnight and little changed on the roads in Buxton - 260 mm (10") on the ground, BEWARE FREEZING RAIN IS COVERING EVERY SUFACE -There is an accident on the A515 at Alsop-en-le-Dale and road is closed both ways (07.30) - - ROAD REPORTS: A5004 LONG HILL is open BUT needs great care (described as "very scary" by Emma today) (The barriers are across at each end), Whaley to Macc Road is open again, but "difficult - snowblowers up there right now" (Thank you Simon who has driven it tonight) , A537 Cat & Fiddle BLOCKED with 10 Foot Drifts and The Council Snowblower has been stuck!! (Thank you Jonathan)! AND THE LEEK ROAD IS IMPASSABLE - "MASSIVE SNOW DRIFTS UP THERE") - also A54 totally blocked near Wildboarclough (Thank you Andrew) , -Tideswell Moor NOW OPEN but there is drifting across the road.......A515 Ashbourne Road IS OPEN (Although barriers are still in place) but drifts are appearing and the fog is dropping (Thank you Chris) - .........A6 North & South from Buxton IS open - Drifting in places and being ploughed now esp. at Hazlecroft just North of Buxton (Thank you Simon & Kevin) and only one lane open Taddington Bypass (Thank you Andrew) NOTE The Rushop Edge Road is barriered at Sparrowpit and CLOSED (Thank you Sarah Helliwell!)..................Local Roads are appalling - most are unploughed and ungritted - KEEP AWAY - you have been warned!! -
Started snowing at 8.00 but has now turned to rain - falling on frozen snow so everywhere is icy. Also, all the road drains are covered with 6+ inches of snow (nearer 18 inches in some places!) so the rain has nowhere to go, apart from down the roads to cause large patches of water that spread nearly fully across the road!!!
What fun!!!!
How I wish I could laugh in the faces of those who thought I was mad when I said I would love a Labradoodle. They didnt believe in such a dog .....HA! whose laughing now eh disbelievers!
Well as for the snow, us soft southerners get away lightly in Kent with all weathers love some of the pictures of the countryside but must be getting too much after such a long time
