Ok here's mine!

Swift (I love the way they look)
Kingfisher (such beautiful colours)
Blue tit (watching blue tits on the feeder really got me into birds)

Yes I get Blue Tits in my garden. There was four of them in my garden the other day, and they were taking it in turns to feed on one of my suet balls! It was really funny.

I can be bothered.
I wasn't sure of the best way to do it but I have assumed that everyone has put them in order like I did. I have awarded 3 pts for choice 1, 2pts for choice 2 and 1pt for choice 3. It wouldn't be too hard to recount with equal points if anyone objects to this.

Scoring was a bit like the Eurovision song contest (without Terry Wogan thank goodness Icon_mad)

Anyway, working on the above basis, so far, the top 10 top 3 birds are:
1 goldfinch 8 points
2 long tailed tit 7
3 robin 7
4 nightjar 6
5 swallow 6
6 kingfisher 5
7 swift 5
8 lapwing 4
9 barn owl 4
10 skylark 4

RE: Top Three Birds

Brilliant, thank you!

Bloody gaudy goldfinch though, with its common punch and judy voice and its primark clothes...

RE: Top Three Birds

one of the sites that I manage is an urban meadow. It gets cut every year in late september and never soon enough for several local dog walkers. A couple of years ago I was having a typical conversation on the subject, explaining that it had been too wet to cut but there were benefits to wildlife etc etc and she was a bit sceptical.

Suddenly about 40 goldfinch descended on the site and stared feeding on the dead seed heads. It was perfect timing and ever since the dog walker in question has not only never mentioned the late cutting but still talks about how lovely it was to see the finches.

So I don't mind if they come out top
