What are the things on your "list" to do when you get a chance? There are many things I would love to do if ever I had the money and time and I'm sure you all have some too. They don't have to be wildlife related, although I'm sure some of them will be.
My list would not include scuba diving--I've tried it and did not care for it.
Bungee jumping--perhaps one day...
Sky diving--I have jumped out of a perfectly good plane already! It was fun (in retrospect), but the tale of jumping out of that airplane is one of my very best stories. I always end with tears in my eyes because I am laughing so hard.
Seeing the pyramids--not really high on my list, but that's because there are so many places to go and visit...
African safari--that would be fun, and my husband would also love to go.
Amazon rainforest--just don't leave that too long, or much of it may be gone when you go .
As for me:
I've always wanted to visit Tristan da Cunha.
I would love to go on a birding tour of Costa Rica or Brazil...
A cycling tour of New Zealand or Australia.
A cycling tour of the UK/meet and greet with my relatives!
Sometime in the next year my husband will act as my 'sag' wagon, and I will bicycle the length of Vancouver Island (well, as far as I can on the roads).
I've managed a couple of my dreams--a cruise through the Inland Passage up to Alaska where we saw glaciers calving. A cruise to Bermuda, with dolphins following the ship. I've flown in gliders both in Napa Valley and on the island of Oahu. The guided horseback trip through the Chilcotin Mountains in British Columbia.
I would love to go cycling in New Zealand too Kingfisher, it's somewhere I've always wanted to go.
Not only is NZ brilliant for touring on a bicycle, but I've got relatives there! So I've got an excellent excuse for going, never mind the flora and fauna.
You sound as if you need to visit Kansas for that field of sunflowers!
What type of writing? Not Italian in 10 easy lessons ?
I would visit the Maldives soon too...I've read terrible things about some of the Pacific Ocean islands and the troubles with the rising water levels .
[list]
[*]Have a book published
[*]Visit the Maldives before the water level rises above them
These two are definitely on my list, the Maldives are a tropical paradise and having a book published would be a dream come true. I have written a few "books" if you can call them that! I haven't sent them off to the publishers for fear of rejection, perhaps one day I will.
I think the easiest one there (assuming you are physically capable) is running the marathon. The second easiest requires a trip to Florida, and good timing. Make that really good timing . I've seen too many shuttle launches get scrubbed because of weather.
Swimming with dolphins sounds fairly easy to manage, assuming you're in the right place to do it, and have the money.
Total solar eclipse...that would mean some planning, but with the internet, it's fairly simple.
You will have to be quick if you want to see the space shuttle! It is being retired soon, I think in 2010, so there will only be a handful of launches between now and then.
I just did a quick bit of research, and the next total solar eclipse in England is unfortunately in 2081! But there will be one in the faroe islands in 2015 so that might be a good one to try and see.

Here are mine:
Scuba dive at the great barrier reef
Can't manage to breathe under water (tried snorkeling - disaster)
Bungee jump
Have no wish to damage the blood vessels in my eyes or detach my retina
Sky dive
Yes please
See the pyramids
Seen them - spent a day with a local student who knew the best bits, pretty good, but the Solar Boat is better!
I don't think my lovely collie dog would appreciate living with snakes, she would consider them toys to be thrown about. Don't actually mind snakes myself.
I think a collie would be able to inflict quite a bit of damage on my poor snakes. They are actually quite harmless creatures (unless you are a rodent, or course).

Kingfisher
Could be quite useful then, as we get the odd mouse in the house now and then.
My all time dream is to visit the British Research Station on Aldabra in the Indian Ocean....Reason..... I want watch, study ,feed & get close to Giant Tortoises. They also have hawksbill & green turtles but it's the tortoises I want to get close to. I have been a tortoise fanatic since I was 12 years old.
Here is one for Jane. She wanted to stand in a field of sunflowers. Well I once did it . Quite a few years ago I suffered PND & our holidaywas to the Vendee in France . While we were there we went to visit - L' Isle de Noirmoutier which is just in Brittany & along the road was nothing but sunflower fields. They made me feel so much better that I took a pic to remind me.
