The First Signs of Spring

Has anyone got any photos of the first signs of Spring in your area? Please post them up here & say exactly where you live! Icon_smile

Primroses

Celandine

Both photos taken in North Devon.

There are also lambs in the field, but they turned up 2 weeks ago, I think they're too early, as one didn't survive the wet weather. Icon_sad

RE: The First Signs of Spring

It's always so warming to think spring is on it's way and the worst of winter is over! I haven't got any pictures at the moment but I will post them if I get any. I'm yet to see any real spring signs though.

I haven't yet seen any signs of spring. I'm out there looking, and ready to go with my camera, though!

I'm not sure if this really counts, but the sun has finally started to come out here! We have had a couple of really nice days recently, which makes me look forward to the warmth of summer even more.

Same here yesterday but it's back to winter today! Overcast, fog and drizzle!

A carpet of Snow drops - just across a field from me in the woods:

The Buzzards were displaying at the back of my cottage yesterday. A wonderful sight and sound.

RE: The First Signs of Spring

Not long back from 4 to 5 hour stomp (with a couple of watering holes along the way). Yep, lesser celandine out, plenty of flies and a good old wasp!!! Also spent about 15 minutes watching four buzzards soaring above the local church. Makes you feel good to be alive!

RE: The First Signs of Spring

I saw a hornet - not sure I was so happy to see one as it chased me around the garden! I mean I've heard about full of the joys of Spring, but that was ridiculous!

It isn't fun being chased by a hornet, I've had that happen to me once before. Running to the house desperately trying not to get stung isn't the greatest experience!

RE: The First Signs of Spring

I was working outside in a Garden yesterday, and got visited by over twenty bumble Queens. There were also two Hoverflies hovering around, plenty of other UFI'sIcon_wink and a Ladybird flew in and landed on my shovel. Also the Blue and Great tits were checking out the Bird boxes.

Regards Chris.
