It isn't fun being chased by a hornet, I've had that happen to me once before. Running to the house desperately trying not to get stung isn't the greatest experience!

You shouldn't worry so much Xeract. Hornets really are gentle giants and rarely sting, only when seriously provoked, see http://www.vespa-crabro.de/hornets.htm[/url]

RE: The First Signs of Spring

Hornets get a very bad reputation! They are like wolves (I remember having a thread about this on here a while back) in that respect. They will hardly ever sting, and even when they do they are nowhere near as dangerous as people think. It would hurt, buyt a lot of people have the misconception that it could damage them.

You can definitely tell spring is here because of all the warm weather we've been having!

I've been working in local woods for the past couple of weeks and the woodland floor is absolutely bursting with the shoots of bluebells - for me a definite sign of spring. It should be a fantastic display when they bloom Icon_smile

RE: The First Signs of Spring

This is getting a bit confusing. There is now another thread almost identical to this one about the first signs of Spring. I think i may have duplicated myself! Can we try and ensure we check to see if a thread is already open about a subject before starting a similair one? I wonder if one of the Moderators can 'lump' the two together?
