Springwatch animals
It may still be Winter but here are some animals/flowers that you can look out for now to cure your wildlife itch until the summer comes. The first to tick them all off the list gets a big amount of respect from me!
- Peacock Butterfly
- Seven-Spot ladybird
- Hawthorn Flowering
- Red-Tailed bumblebee
- Swift
Good Luck!

Big amount of respect is good but big amount of money is better. Just kidding. You've got a great list Richard.

I haven't seen any on the list yet (we do have red-tailed bumblebees and ladybirds!). It's still a bit early here for any of those.

RE: Springwatch animals
According to the BBC Spring is coming earlier than ever before here in the UK. I have to agree with them, flowers that you usually wouldn't see until late-feb, early-march were already flowering at the start of the feb.
As for the list, I haven't seen any yet but I'm sure I will soon.

RE: Springwatch animals
Well, has anyone managed to spot any of the Springwatch creatures yet? I'm still excited that I saw my swallow here, in the States.

RE: Springwatch animals
I'm embarrassed to say I haven't seen any of the spring watch animals! I would be very impressed if someone has seen all of them.
P.s. Congratulations on seeing your swallow

I suppose I will have to try to encourage everyone to get out there and take a look then!
Come on everyone, we expect at least one sighting from each of you over the weekend .

I saw my first ladybird today sunning itself in sunny Lancashire.

At last, we are off to a start. Where exactly was this in Lancashire?

Lancashire was SUNNY?

I think the same can be said for the whole of England!
As for me, I too have seen a ladybird but none of the others.

Just chased a butterfly up the garden & low & behold it was a Peacock! Bit raggedy but a Peacock never the less.

I think that if Xeract were having a contest...you'd be close to being the winner .
I remember a number of years ago my father took me through a bit of park in that general area, but I have forgotten the name, and my father is no longer alive...I wonder if that was the spot? I shall have to do a bit of research.

I do officially declare Tibbar14 the winner of Richards contest! I think the prize was Richard's "respect", so congratulations
