Spring Walk
I just had a wonderful short walk in the woods, it isn't the nicest day we've had recently but I had some free time this afternoon. The sheep were out in the filds (although no lambs that I could see yet) and the birds were singing at the top of their voice. All in all a very enjoyable Spring walk! Roll on the summer!

RE: Spring Walk
It was one of those heavily overcast, miserable days yesterday (the lack of sunshine does seem to have an affect upon me) and it would have been so easy to stay indoors finding chores to do . Instead I forced myself to get out for a walk along the local section of the North Downs. The weather must have put most people off as I was out for 3 hrs and didn't see a single person (not even a dog walker). Again, there were no lambs but plenty of birds. And by the time I got back my mood had definitely lifted - and by the time England had beaten France I figured it had been a pretty good day .

I totally agree! Apart from that idiot commentator (Brian someone) who is supposedly English but cant stop criticising the English team even when we're beating the championship favourites!
Anyway back on topic, I find that no matter what the weather a walk can really cheer you up. Even if it's pouring with rain getting a waterproof on and braving it can be a lot of fun.

I am about to go for a walk right now! I've noticed that the crocus are starting to stir...but not seen much else.
No baby animals, either.

RE: Spring Walk
Having just moved to Llantwit Major only a couple of weeks back I need to find some good walks yet. I know the beaches and cliff paths pretty well but I really want to explore elsewhere too, find some nice woodland walks etc. Guess what I'll be doing come the weekend??
Oh and I spotted a really nice, localish, walk in BBC Wildlife magazine from a couple of months back. Think I'll give that a try too....
The only real failure in life is the failure to try

RE: Spring Walk
Woodland walks are definitely my favourite, perhaps because I grew up surrounded by woodland. I do love seaside walks on holiday though although in england it can get a bit chilly with the wind coming in off the shore!

Sounds like a fun weekend! I will definitely try and get out for a walk at some point over the weekend, even though the weather isn't looking that great.

RE: Spring Walk
I have been to busy packing boxes for our move. We have had some glorious weather too.
I guess i will have to wait until we get to Mull.
I may just grab one last wander around Leighton Moss. (which is only 5 minutes drive from me) I hear that the bitterns have started booming now.

RE: Spring Walk
I'm planning a long walk this afternoon, the weather doesn't look that nice today but it should be good fun.
Which day are you moving AndyK? Hope it goes well!

RE: Spring Walk
I too was going to have a wander today, but its blowing a gale and throwing it down.
I am going up for one week on Sunday to sort a few things out. Then back to put everything into storage, and go up for a weeks holiday on Sat 15th (i wil need ione by then) and we then just stay on the island and start our new job.
