Rolleyes  RE: Sparrowhawks in th Garden

I know theres one around me somewhere when getting out of the car one morning spotted it sitting on the garden fence of next door.
Plus i have seen it flying over a few times..even passing through my garden ..Ive quite a lot of bird freeding stations which do attract lots of the smaller birds...Blue Tits Great Tits and a small flock of sparrows so im guessing that he's hanging around to see what he can pick up for lunch sometime ...

RE: Sparrowhawks in th Garden

I think that wild canon & wildcat are right. This morning looking out the window watching the rabbits we saw a 'bomb burst' from the feeding station as some birds flew up over the roof they were chased by a sparrowhawk. All we saw was the underneath of his belly. Sightings are getting more common which shows that the sparrowhawks are thriving.

RE: Sparrowhawks in th Garden

Now that my feeding stations are finally getting some use, I am wondering if I will start to see the US equivalents.

If I do start to see the Cooper's Hawks and Sharp-shinned Hawks, I will have a front row seat, as the one feeder is only ten feet away from me.
