SPARROWHAWKS IN CO.ARMAGH

does anyone know the best place in lurgan or portadown area to see sparrowhawks regularly, any small pine forests about.been interested in sparrowhawks all my life.in my young days waringstown was a great place to see them near the cricket pitch and valley lane.

It is not a good idea to ask for locations for wildlife on forums. There are those who's only intention is to shoot birds of prey or to steal eggs/young.

While you may be genuine, you might also be one of those people who do not have the best interests of wildlife in mind!

I agree with wild canon.

Sparrowhawks are very common and if you put in the time you should be able to quite easily observe them. Especially in the spring when they are getting ready to breed and can be quite obvious. Areas which hold large numbers of small passerines are best looked at feeding stations etc.
