Snow!
I couldn't believe it when I woke up this morning and my entire garden was covered in snow! I hadn't heard any rumours of snow before this and the spring weather seemed to be getting warmer. It is lovely though, I haven't seen proper snow like this in years probably.
My family and I are all about to go and enjoy a walk out in the fresh snow. Is it snowing around anyone elses way?

RE: Snow!
Snow was forecast for our area today, and for once they got it right. Woke to find a few cms of snow around the motorhome at Marbury (see thread about l s woodpecker), but now home in Buxton and it's snowing hard and has been for several hours. Global warming? What global warming?

RE: Snow!
We have blue tits nesting in our garden (as well as Robins). They must have been taken aback by the snow today! Here's a photo of one of the blue tits I took earlier:

Ha, exactly wild canon!
I've never even know it snow in April. I had a look at the weather forecast today and it said that it should continue snowing around the UK. I would upload some lovely photos of my walk today but unfortunately it does not seem to be letting me. Thats a great one musclecat!

RE: Snow!
We got the full load of snow today. Blizzard conditions, and there's still a decent covering in the garden. The pigeons were enjoying it though.

I don't know where you live Sunshine, but here in the High Peak, snow in April is not uncommon. Back in the 1980s, we were going on holiday to Norfolk during the last week in April and had a problem getting out of Buxton because of deep snow. If we had not had a 4 wheel drive, we wouldn't have made it!
Can't help thinking that the weather is returning to how it used to be. No doubt the global warmers will say that a single event doesn't indicate a change, but they've used that for their theories all along!

I'm from Surrey and there hasn't been much snow here for years (at least not the good stuff) I was only born at the very end of the 80's but my parents said we had alot of good snow when I was little - but of course I dont remember!

My wife comes from Surrey (well, Ethiopia originally, but moved to Surrey when she was about 12). We went down to stay with her father one Christmas in the 1980s and all the talk in the pub was about how much snow they had had (probably half a cm). I pulled out the picture below and suddenly, the subject changed!

RE: Snow!
Whoa that is alot of snow Wild canon! Doesn't even look like its of the UK to me. Unfortunately after Sunday's episode of snow here (which disappeared in the afternoon) there's been no sign of any more. It's almost as if it never was

RE: Snow!
Well I'm pleased to say I'm back, and can't believe I missed all the snow! It sounds and looks amazing, I haven't seen snow in England like that for a long time. Typical I'm away at the time it happens!
