Redshank? or Blacktailed Godwit?

I have lost the thread or if it even was here, but i thought this was a Redshank (winter plumage) going on the ID in my RSPB book, but have been told its a Blacktailed Godwit, im still a little confused over this as it resembles the Bar-tailed Godwit more, and the colouring of the legs is very different, so help please!! im sure someone here can put the mystery to bed.
