Yes, I know that, the trouble was that there was no sound from the bird.

Okay, here's one of mine, taken yesterday at Ebury Hill just outside Shrewsbury.

At present, the jury's out on whether it's a Marsh or Willow Tit.

Looks like a Willow Tit, Richard. Nice photo.

I really like those photos Cornwall Birding! I missed them the first time around but they are brilliant photos.
Which camera and lens did you use if you don't mind me asking? I'm trying to slowly learn which are good buys before going out and spending a huge amount.

RE: Photographing Birds

Here is a photo I took of a Barnacle Goose that ran in front of me in the grounds of Leeds Castle in Kent.
For any photographers (like me) the image details are:
Camera: Pentax MZ-50
Shutter speed: 1/2000
ISO: 200
Aperature: 4.5 (I think!)

RE: Photographing Birds

Hi,

This is the blue heron in a pond near to my home. Most of the day it stays there without moving. I have seen it trying catching fish. But never seen it caught a fish.

Camera : canon eos 350d
lens 18-55mm

Beautiful Bittern - you're very lucky to see them, I've only heard them.

Long tailed tit:

This one was so far up in the tree, I had no tripod with me, only a big heavy Nikon D70 with my telescopic lens - Nikon ED AF Nikkor 70-300mm. So it was hard to hold still, focus & click at the same time without falling over! lol

Great photo mark! Thanks for posting, and welcome to the forums. You're lucky to have found a place you can regular see a Heron, I haven't found one yet.

Thanks. The one on the left is a digiscoped shot using a Contax 300L handheld up to my Kowa scope. The others are with a Canon 400d and Sigma 170-500mm lense. Just goes to show that the cheaper option is sometimes better! Below is a shot i took on the Scillies a few years ago with the same digiscope set up. It remains my favourite photo i have ever taken.
