Oh what a beautiful morning
Took the dog for a walk at 7.00 this morning, absolutely beautiful. A light frost, clear, cloudless sky with a few vapour trails - those far to the east turned fiery red by the rays of a sun still over the horizon for me. A song thrush serenaded me as I walked up into the woods, while further in a tawny owl called, causing a few blackbirds to start their alarm calls. As we walked round in the brightening daylight, robins, tits and chaffinches called, then far away a woodpecker drummed. On the return, another woodpecker was drumming much closer to me.
Sadly, it's off to work now, but had a great weekend with fabulous February weather - sunny and warm during the day, cold at night, quite typical. Went for an exploratory walk on Saturday, then spent Sunday at WWT Martin Mere. Avocets, ruff, black-tailed godwits, peregrine, possible merlin, buzzard, stonechat as well as the usual swans, geese and ducks.

Couldn't agree with you more wild canon. This is the best weather for ages! Its lovely that the days are getting longer too.
I was out and about exploring the South coast at the weekend and the warm sunshine accompanied by a light breeze made it perfect.

Sounds like a wonderful walk! It is so refreshing having a sunny, fresh day to go walking in. It makes everyday things in life seem more enjoyable and everyone is in a better mood.

Yes, a brilliant morning. While on the bus to Chelmsford this morning, fog reduced my sight to about 15-20 yards, thats how thick it was!

No fog here today. Sunny and warm (out of the wind) all day. Spent a couple of hours out on the local patch. Very tempted to put the bino's away and get the surfboard out!

I had my first BBQ of the year on Saturday and ate lunch out on the patio in the sun with my shades on. Perfect!

It is lovely to have BBQ weather in February. Lets hope we get lots of weather like this in the summer, because I'm always up for a good BBQ!

I don't think that I can remember a February like it. If this is the result of global warming one is almost tempted to welcome it Went for a walk in the woods today and was amazed at all the signs of new life bursting through and the air was filled with birdsong. It was easy to forget that it is still winter.

Vegetarians can have good BBQs too! I am not one but know how to make a few good veggy things! Also it cooks quicker and does not get burnt through fat dripping on the coals which alight.
