New Springwatch

Everyone has their view on springwatch, but if nothing else it does provide some talking points! Personally I quite enjoy parts of it, so I'll be giving it a watch. Does anyone know when the new series starts? The website just says May, with no specific date...

If Bill Oddie is presenting, I'll be giving it a miss!

I think it starts on the 26th May.

RE: New Springwatch

Yes AndyK that's right, it starts 26th May & is no longer in Devon (as the farm is for sale for £2 million!) It's now taking place in Norfolk.

Wild canon am afraid Bill Oddie will be presenting it, but least there will be Simon Kingdom & Kate Humble to watch as well, so if you don't like Bill, then just turn the sound down when he comes on! Icon_wink

RE: New Springwatch

I will definitely be watching it!

I tried to set up my own in my garden but the rats ate the blackbird eggs. Now the neighbours are cutting down another huge hedge, right in bird nesting time. I can't wait to move somewhere where hedges are admired over grey breeze block walls.

RE: New Springwatch

I'll be watching when I can. I'm hoping they will have it on iplayer so I can keep track of storylines when I miss some. Bill Oddy has his moments I think, although I agree he can be a bit annoying!

Why's that? He definitaly knows what he is talking about. I was a member of the AutumnWatch forum, and if anybody mentioned the words "Bill Oddie", everyone would slag him off.

He is a great person with a huge knowledge of wildlife I think.

RE: New Springwatch

I'll be catching it when I can but my free time is limited and probably good for my sanity to do something different in my evenings - like put posts on a wildlife forums website - oh bum.

Bill Oddie is Bill Oddie. Although I have heard stories, since I have never met him I will reserve judgement until I do.

My kids will be watching junior springwatch so I will no doubt be updated on "who's hiding in the hide" - hey this ties in nicely with the thread on children and wildlife.

RE: New Springwatch

Well I shall be on the Beeb SpringWatch message board as usual under the name of, well, 'Skylark' - it's the fault of that very same message board that I signed up to various wildlife forums! As when it closed down last year I was at a loss! lol
