Mosquitos and Daddies

So the time of the year has come where we are all - well me anyway Icon_biggrin - getting frustrated with the mosquitos and daddy long legs keeping us awake at night. There haven't been nearly as many this year as usual probably because of the bad weather we've had all summer, but they still are annoying when they seem to wait for you to turn off your light and get into bed before buzzing around your ear!

I'm probably being a bit over dramatic because of how I was kept awake last night Icon_biggrin
In general I don't mind insects, but apart from keeping all your windows shut and lights off what's the best way of keeping away the mossies?

There's always the good old-fashioned mosquito net! Other than that, I don't think there's much that's reliable.

We have not seen a daddy longlegs yet, must be down to the weather but I keep our bedroom door firmly shut. There is nothing worse than a blue bottle dive bombing your ear when you are in bedroom. It somehow feels quite personal....

I just make sure my bedroom door and windows are kept shut until I go to bed. It does mean the room gets quite hot, bit once i'm in bed and the light is off I find it's ok to have the window open to let in the cool air.

There aren't anywhere near as many as usual this year. To counteract the ones that have made it in, I have a bedroom check before I go to bed eveynight now where I check all their favourite hiding spots. I usually find a few Icon_biggrin
