Ten men have been charged with attending on organised dog fight, with five more charged with more serious charges, two even facing the prosect of prison for owning pit bulls and also for causing unnecessary suffering to an animal.

You can't exactly call it good news, because it is terrible that this even goes on at all. But at least justice has been done even if it is too late for the poor dogs involved.

Fantastic news, which will hopefully send a strong message to all the others involved in this dreadful event. The only shame is that it sounds as though the maximum prison sentence is only 6 months.

It's good news that there has been this highly publicised case, as Timberwolf says it sends out a strong message to anyone else who might be participating in dog fighting that it won't be tolerated. It's difficult to know how many people are taking part in dog fighting around the country, I fear that it is quite a few.

As a spokesperson on the news said, anyone who can watch two dogs rip each other to pieces for half an hour and then sit by as they both die must have something wrong with them.

How can people enjoy that? The kind of people who do surely must have something seriously wrong with them and should be locked up for being mentally insane!

I don't know how people can enjoy that, I suppose it is still a "sport" left over from humans more bloodthirsty days, but it has no place in modern society.
