March of the penguins

Has anyone seen this film? I read some reviews of it that were completely contradictory, some said it was a good film, others said it was misleading at best. For one reason or another I never got around to seeing it at thet cinema so didn't get to make my own mind up about it.

I'm thinking of renting it out soon, but I wondered if anyone else had seen it and what they thought of it. I'm still not completely sure what it was about, so any info would be great!

RE: March of the penguins

It is about the yearly journeys of Emporer penguins, and although I haven't seen it either, I think if you view it as a documentary on animal life it is a good film. Some people started to say that it has lessons about how humans should live contained in it, without actually researching the true behavious of the penguins.

I think it would be worth a watch and I have been meaning to try it for some time.

I wanted to see that film too. Did they film everything naturally or are most things set up? For example are they sometimes computer generated?

RE: March of the penguins

I think it is all real footage of the penguins and there is no computer generation as it is more of a documentary than a film.
