Congratulations to Markulous on winning the final competition of 2009 and Wild Canon on winning the overall competition for the year!

July - Snakes and Reptiles

This is a monthy photo competition, with each month having a set category. During the final week of the month, a voting thread will be put up so you can vote for your favourite images.
Unfortunately the winner will not recieve any prizes, because it is just a bit of fun.

The winner will be mentioned and congratulated by Xeract on the homepage. On your thread, can you please give a name for your image, and if possible, include photogrpahy information, such as ISO, shutter speed etc. A new thread will be created for each month, so please be sure to enter in the right one!

If you have any further questions, then please contact me by personal message, and we will try our best to answer your question.

CC, seeing the snake was a strange moment. I don't think I've ever seen one in the wild before. It just slithered across the path a few feet in front of us. A nice moment.

Your brother's snake certainly has a mouthful there! What breed is it? A frind of mine used to have a boa.

I have no idea, only that his name is Tarzan and that he hisses a lot. I'd just love to have a tarantula, but my mama draws the line at me keeping ants. I'm hoping to get an Axolotl soon enough when I go to uni, though. Meanwhile, here's a pretty little newt I saw at London Zoo last week..

Hi all
This is my first post so I thought i would send in a pic for the competition....
It was taken in Kenya in 2005 with a Canon 20D and Sigma 28-135mm (with macro feature).
Some great shots on here!! keep up the good work!
