Icebergs

I'm sure we've all seen pictures like this before, and heard about how most of an iceberg is beneath the surface, but I couldn't resist posting this photo because you can really see the scale of icebergs in it.

Enjoy!

RE: Icebergs

That's an amazing picture! Until you see a picture like that, its difficult to imagine the size of icebergs beneath the surface.

RE: Icebergs

I have to stress that this is not one of my own pictures Icon_biggrin

I was sent it by a friend so I'm not sure of its original source, but thanks to whoever it was.

I never would of guessed! Icon_biggrin

How anyone could take a photo like that I don't know, but the result was certainly worth the effort.

RE: Icebergs

One of my great memories is from the cruise my husband and I made up the Inside Passage to Alaska from Seattle. One place we visited was Glacier Bay National Park, which is quite famous for both blue ice, and calving icebergs. It was awesome (in the true sense of the word) to hear and see icebergs being born.
