Congratulations to Markulous on winning the final competition of 2009 and Wild Canon on winning the overall competition for the year!

The top 3 members this year were:

1st - Wild Canon (80 votes)
2nd - Markulous (40 votes)
3rd - Keith (33 votes)

Congratuations to all three of you and also a big thanks to everyone who entered this year. If you'd like to know your score then please contact Jamie.

As you know, this was Jamie's last month running the competition so a huge thank you to him from everyone at the forum. He's run the competition brilliantly and I'm sure you'll agree it's been a big success.

There will be no January competition this year but hopefully we should have something sorted for February.

Thanks and happy new year!

holidaying in wales?

Hello there,

Have you been wronged by a holiday abroad? We’d love to hear from you. Whether you sampled the most disappointing food you've ever eaten or were simply stuck doing nothing for two weeks, then please tell us about it.

Visit Wales wants to give a hard done-by family an all-expenses paid trip to Wales, in April of this year. Once there, the chosen family will be treated to the holiday that they deserve – everything from gob-smacking beaches, to gourmet food, to awe-inspiring hikes. And their tailor-made holiday experience will be filmed for an online documentary and TV advert.

If you have children aged between 8-18yrs and are ready to get stuck into a different kind of holiday (that isn't all about how burnt your back got...) then please contact tom.latter@wk.com or call 0207 1947119 for more information and a no obligation chat.

Look forward to hearing from you,

Tom

RE: holidaying in wales?

Hi

I have had several holidays where the locals were unfriendly, and I felt that although they wanted my money, they really didn't want me in their country. As soon as I walked through the doors of their shops, they rapidly started speaking in their own language, even though they could speak English as well as I. Where was this? Wales, of course!

Oh dear - sorry to hear this. When did you go? Could you be tempted to go back?

I reckon it's happened nearly every time I've stayed and I've been visiting for 30 years or more, but I still go back. Just the stupid Welsh people - and I can say that without prejudice because I'm half Welsh!
