Hi folks.
Just like to introduce myself.
My name is Chris, i am from Wales. I used to work within the Countryside sector(Warden), now i do Property maintenance, which includes Landscaping. I also volunteer my spare time with various Wildlife orgs on pratical and educational events.
I have been a keen Amature Naturalist from year dot. I am fasinated in anything that moves, from Ants to Birds. Woodlice are currently grabbing my attention, i did not realise how many species we have..37
Chris.
Regards Chris.

Welcome to Wildlife UK Fauna! I'm sure you will have fun here! Which organisations have you volunteered for?
Also, thanks for the woodlice fact...I had no idea there were that many!

RE: Hi folks.
Thanks for the welcome Xeract.
Which orgs!!..strewth there has been so many. Some of my favourites;
CCW,on Wildlife surveys. They also helped me get my Great Crested Newt licence. I am also a volunteer Warden on one of their sites in conjuction with Butterfly conservation, monitoring the Marsh Fritillary and other Butterfly species.
Torfaen Community Woodland Project in with Coed-Cymru. An excellent project looking after local woods coppicing ect. Even get the chance to work with people training them up in Woodland skills. Have not done this one for a while though.
Keep Wales Tidy..Clean Rivers Project. This is another excellent project, local groups take on a strecth of River to look after. They get funding for clean ups, access, Otter holts amougnst other things.
Welsh water, Forestry Commission, Gwent Wildlife trust, Environment Agency and more, got to keep busy!! .
P.s I have been trying to log out and keep failing.
Chris.
Regards Chris.
