Congratulations to Markulous on winning the final competition of 2009 and Wild Canon on winning the overall competition for the year!

The top 3 members this year were:

1st - Wild Canon (80 votes)
2nd - Markulous (40 votes)
3rd - Keith (33 votes)

Congratuations to all three of you and also a big thanks to everyone who entered this year. If you'd like to know your score then please contact Jamie.

As you know, this was Jamie's last month running the competition so a huge thank you to him from everyone at the forum. He's run the competition brilliantly and I'm sure you'll agree it's been a big success.

There will be no January competition this year but hopefully we should have something sorted for February.

Thanks and happy new year!

hi de hi folks :)

Hi all Icon_smile

I'm Auryn, a professional photographer from Bexley in Kent with a passion for rare and exotic wildlife, primarily big cats. I work lots with major wildlife charities to raise awareness and funds through celebrity auctions of my photos, prints etc.
I have two large fund raising events planned for later this year, one to Romania in September which focuses on the European Brown Bear and visiting the newly built bear sanctuary near Zarnesti, and the second is a 500k hike across Borneo to document and study the demise of the Clouded Leopards natural habitat, orangutans in their natural habitat as well as seeing the vital work done by Borneo Orangutan Survival (BOS) at the Nyaru Menteng sanctuary.

I'm more than happy to talk about photography related stuffage so if anyone wants any advice just ask Icon_smile

RE: hi de hi folks :)

lol thx Carl. I've loved photography since i was 6 so to me there was no other career option. I don't think i 'became' a pro as such, i just took consistently good photos to get paid for them on a regular basis. I'm quite well known in wildlife circles (zoo's, sanctuaries etc) and the celebrity world so it helps the charity to have a known name who can deliver a big pr campaign, and it helps me with content for exhibitions & print/canvas sales which is where they make most of their donations from as i always give 90% profit back to the charity Icon_smile
