Hey from the Lark

Hello everyone, I've only just joined, although I've been checking out this forum as a guest for a while now & have loved what I've seen.

I live in North Devon with my folks, in a pretty little cottage with a garden surrounded by woodlands, fields & ancient hedgerows - Everything visits from Roe deer, hares, moles, voles & stoats - & all the garden birds including my favourite Skylark & second favouite Yellow Hammer.

I've always loved wildlife & as a child drew & painted birds - now I'm an artist, I have both a BA & a MA in Fine Art & I am now an abstract painter along with a photographer.

I'm very much looking forward to meeting you all - some people I recognise from various other forums so hello to Lady Kestrel & Wildlife Rescuer (Caroline - this is where you've gone to! Icon_cheesygrin)

Howdy, Skylark. Glad that you like what you've seen. Welcome.

Where you live sounds wonderful; you're so lucky to have such a range of wildlife visiting. Pictures would be lovely.

Looking forward to getting to know you.

RE: Hey from the Lark

Hello Skylark, it's really encouraging to hear that you have been checking us out and liked what you've seen. I know Xeract has worked very hard on this site, and it's certainly a labour of love for me (well, it's hardly labour, but you know what I mean Icon_biggrin ).

You are indeed very fortunate to be in a place where you have so much wildlife to watch. I'd also enjoy seeing any art works you care to share with us.

Is your avatar one of your photos (I would assume so...)? Where was it taken?

Welcome to Wildlife UK!

Kingfisher

Hey all, thanks for all of these welcoming messages . . . it's all very sweet of you!

Kingfisher, my avatar is one of my photos, taken from across my entrance gate towards the Ash tree growing up through the hedge on the corn (now cut) field. I did upload some of my photos on the gallery - but in future I shall start some new threads instead, & if anyone's interested in my paintings (sorry for the blatant advertisement) my website is:

I enjoyed your Artist's Statement very much. I think most of us here believe the same thing that you have said so expressively.
