Hello all

Hi everyone Icon_cheesygrin

I'm Cazzagirl or Cazza. I'm a hedgehog carer for the Hedgehog Helpline. I live just outside of Cardiff in a town called Llantwit Major. I've been caring for hedgehogs for several years but only last May did I become an active carer for the Hedgehog Helpine and I really love it. In the last 10 months I've taken in and cared for over 100 hedgehogs and I've been able to successfully release 75-80% of them back into the wild.

I've always been interested in wildlife and I started out volunteering for several wildlife sanctuaries as a teenager. I didn't opt to follow that path when it came time to make study choices at school and ended up in business management which is where I am today. However, I've just started studying with the Open University and, with all my wildlife volunteer work, I'm hoping to be able to get back to my "wild" roots. Icon_lol

Hello Cazzagirl, welcome to the forums!

Caring for hedgehogs sounds like a very rewarding job. It must be a great feeling releasing them into the wild.

Hello Cazza, feel free to add photos of hedgehogs any time! We have an old thread around here somewhere with some nice photos, and we can always use more photos of one of my favourite UK animals Icon_smile .

Welcome to Wildlife UK!

Hi Cazzagirl - welcome to the forum. Excellent work you're dong with the Hedgehogs - I think like a lot of wildlife, they need all the help they can get.

What course are you doing with the O.U, if you don't mind me asking?

Smile

RE: Hello all

Welcome Cazza. I'm so pleased to see you here. What would I have done without your advice with all the little hoglets, that I kept finding in my garden last November.
I look forward to seeing your Hog Blog
