RE: Good year for slugs

Well I suppose it was better than dying stuck to the spot!!!! My theory was that it was too dry to slither, although you might be right that it got caught out in the cold & all I did was give it a cold bath .Sorry sluggyIcon_cry What am I doing? ......It's a slug! ..I did feel sorry for it though.

By the way, I don't think I mentioned it, but the Pacific Northwest slugs are LIFE SIZE.

RE: Good year for slugs

I have great news for slug lovers!

The two in this photo:

Are the Tiger slug on the left, and the European Red slug on the right! Both natives of Europe, and NOT native to the Pacific Northwest.

Yuck, yuck and yuck again, I can't stand slugs, I get them in the house, and wake up to miles of slime trail downstairs in the morning, the really horrid thing is, my bathroom is downstairs and if I have to get up in the middle of the night, there's the danger of treading on one, and then they pop and squelch between your toes Icon_eek[/align]

Great picture Kingfisher Icon_biggrin

There's nothing worse than going outside in the evening in bare feet and treading a poor unsuspecting slug. I just feel sorry for the slug though!

eeeewwwww! Yuck.

Not to mention that it takes forever to get the slime off. Xeract, I don't think I would feel sorry for the slug, trust me Icon_smile .

RE: Good year for slugs

We sometimes get them in the house too so if I get up in the night I go on a slug hunt!! We mostly get them in autumn , I think they come in via the airbricks but can I find out when the get from the cavity to the inside? Not a clue..........
