Congratuations to all three of you and also a big thanks to everyone who entered this year. If you'd like to know your score then please contact Jamie.

As you know, this was Jamie's last month running the competition so a huge thank you to him from everyone at the forum. He's run the competition brilliantly and I'm sure you'll agree it's been a big success.

There will be no January competition this year but hopefully we should have something sorted for February.

Giant (large white) caterpillars?

On a walk a few weeks ago, i came across this like sandy patch of land and it had some big hole dug into it, it`s a vertical bit of soil btw so like there`s bracken on top.Anyways whilst just looking at the soil, i noticed this dead caterpillar was pretty fat, and looked like a large white, and then in one of the wholes there`s was the biggest caterpillar i`ve ever seen, it look almost identicle to a large white, and positive it is, and it was trying to climb up the soil but kept falling down, anyways i saw another one which at first looked dead i even touch it with a twig and it didn`t budge, so i went back to the alive one, looked back and the "dead" one was walking was pretty freakingIcon_lol i was like "wait....... ain`t you supposed to be dead".
So can anyone tell me any info on them, as the about the thickness of my little finger.

cheers

Carl

Btw one of them gave me the pleasure of watching them do a no 2 rofl

If my spelling sucks it`s because i type too quick and then hit post before checking.

How about a Drinker Moth larva ? - they tend to sunbathe at this time of year and are very large.
