RE: Feeding stations

It was busy this morning on the feeding station . If you look closely there are 3 goldfinches ,4 great tits, 1 house sparrow.

RE: Feeding stations

I have just bought some bird feeders to try and get birds near the house so I can photograph them. We have a dog which I think might scare them away but I have put them high up so he can't reach them. Do you think they will come?

Yes! The birds will become accustomed to the dog, and realize that he can't get to them.

Good, I'll leave it where it is then for now. I haven't seen any birds on it yet, but maybe soon.

RE: Feeding stations

Stu, I think that the birds will only come when the dog is in. We have just had workmen pointing the house for 2 days so when they went then the feeding station was a plethora of birds all waiting till they had gone. I will measure how far from my patio doors it is but I estimate 10 foot. I think the secret is in that it is in a hedgerow of shrubs thus therefore affording some cover but pics to follow.
