RE: Favourite british bird?

Hello Jamie, welcome to Wildlife UK! It's a very difficult question, I have many favourites, but at this time of year the robin is always great to see.

For me it has to be the barn owl. Nothing beats the sight of the barn owl flying over the fields, particularly at dusk.

Mine would probably be the Peregrine Falcon - a beautiful bird to look at, stunning to watch manoeuvre in the air and breathtaking to watch when diving to attack.

RE: Favourite british bird?

That is a hard question they are all great in different ways.
For sheer etertainmet, I would probably say starlings or robin or blue tits.
For a songster-probably a blackbird.
For a bird I would love to see-owls, merlin and golden eagle.
For wildlife spectacle- a peregrine, roosting starlings, thousands of waders at estuaries and seabird colonies.

I could go on, I can't really choose.

Skylark - now that was obvious wasn't it?

Also lapwing, barn owl & yellowhammer - I, like the Stoop, could go on forever!

Only ever seen nightjars once, they make that really strange sound... sends shivers through you.

But if i am going to choose, then it must be the Bullfinch.
