What observing equipment do you have?
At the minute I just have a fairly inexpensive pair of binoculars - they are better than cheap telescopes. Soon I would like to get a medium level amateur telescope and some sort of CCD if possible, although I have a bit of saving to do first.

RE: Equipment
My husband and I used to have an inexpensive telescope, and came to the conclusion that our birding binoculars, mounted to a tripod, were much better!
Sadly though, we don't do much astronomical observation anymore because of our work hours--we're at work! We do see a fair amount of interest on the way into work, though, and we can always go out for observations during our tea breaks and lunch. It's not the same as being able to get out for three or four hours during the night though .
But having the binoculars on a tripod is easy to set up, and easy to carry in the vehicle as well.

Only binoculars, however we did borrow a decent telescope off a friend once, that was really good and i would love to have my own if i could afford it.

RE: Equipment
bex, have you tried mounting your binoculars to a good tripod? It's not the perfect solution, but it works quite well actually.
