ECO house sells for £7.2m

A new "eco house" in the Coswolds has just sold to an anonymous buyer for £7.2 million pounds! Personally I think it is probably the extreme modern look that gave the house its price rather than any eco friendliness. It is only the size of a double semi though so I think someone has got too much money on their hands!

I keeping hearing that old adage of "People who live in glass houses..."

What makes this house 'green'? It doesn't seem to blend in with the landscape very well, either.

No it doesn't seem to blend in very well like some of the other eco houses. I would be interested to know exactly how it is green too. It does look like a fantastic place to live though.

I love the countryside that surrounds it but the house does nothing for me. To be honest I think it looks hideous. Why do they sell it with the eco label when it is such an eyesoar? Does blending into the enviroment have no importance to planners? I imagine it has all the energy saving gadgets etc but sometimes i think people go too far, where is the balance in tihis?

I can't tell; is the house in the image a photograph or a computer generated image? That just goes to show how good technology is (if it is a computer generated image; or how bad my eye sight is! Icon_redface)

I'm pretty sure it's an actual image as someones paid for it, so it can't be just a concept. I agree with Jane, it looks pretty bad to me! I've always imagined an eco house to look something like a hobbit house Icon_biggrin

What an ugly thing! And only the size of a double semi too? Someone has got much too much money and not much sense. How is building a house right in the middle of such a beautiful place eco friendly?
