Doin' the Puyallup

Just in case anyone is not following along in my blog, I've got the first part of my visit to the Western Washington State Fair posted. It's a bit long to be repeated here, although I will put up one of my favourite photos, just to lure everyone into taking a look at the blog Icon_biggrin .

Giant pumpkins!

Now that I am home--that thing at '17 feet' is a corn stalk!

RE: Doin' the Puyallup

They certainly do things BIG in the US. Although I was reading a news article about a guy who's giant leeks had been slashed & ruined then he couldn't win at the show yet again this year. Talk about 'leek wars' I believe that there is always a lot of sabotage in vegatable showing!!
We saw big pumpkikns at Bingley show & Chatsworth but not that big!!!

RE: Doin' the Puyallup

I can't anyone ever being so worried about a vegatable competition that they would sabotage someone elses, it's not in the spirit at all although I know it does go on!

They definitely do things a lot bigger in the US, that corn stalk is huge!
