Congratulations to Markulous on winning the final competition of 2009 and Wild Canon on winning the overall competition for the year!

The top 3 members this year were:

1st - Wild Canon (80 votes)
2nd - Markulous (40 votes)
3rd - Keith (33 votes)

Congratuations to all three of you and also a big thanks to everyone who entered this year. If you'd like to know your score then please contact Jamie.

As you know, this was Jamie's last month running the competition so a huge thank you to him from everyone at the forum. He's run the competition brilliantly and I'm sure you'll agree it's been a big success.

There will be no January competition this year but hopefully we should have something sorted for February.

Blue Tit Drawing

Ok so to kick off this new section here`s a drawing of a blue tit i drew about a year or so back, when i was bored:

any comments welcome, also notice i didn`t draw anything in the background cause i was scared i was going to ruin the picture.

If my spelling sucks it`s because i type too quick and then hit post before checking.

what a good idea to post some members artwork

im afraid i can only draw 'matchstalk men and matchstalk cats and dogs and matchstalk blue tits wearing boots and clogs'

But this may just inspire me to try out my creative side, or i might think about it in the pub LOL

RE: Blue Tit Drawing

Hi Carl

Really good drawings. Just an idea but wouldn't it be easier for you to set up a thread called, say, Carl's Drawings and then post them into there so that we can view them all without quite so much going in and out of topics? (I don't know if you can actually do that in a sub forum so, as I say, it's just an idea).

Keep up the drawing, anyway as it's good to see them.

@ Celtic Sparrow thank you and i copy them from books, don`t get many blue tits round here.

@ Gill, thanks and yer i thought of that but thought i`d do them seperatly because if i do more and more drawings and painting then it`s just going to become one big messy post.Much easier to do it like this for now,if we then get alot of posts then i might put them into a subforum, also wheni do them singly people can see what i`ve put up where as if it`s a post they might think or hes just replied can`t be bothered with that and they might get sick and tired of seeing the same post over and over.
Thanks for all the replies

Hi Carl

Like your Blue Tit. Nice colours. You`ve got the legs exactly in the right place too... whenever I try to draw birds, I tend to harpoon their abdomens with stick legs!!! Thanks for sharing it with us!

RE: Blue Tit Drawing

That could be my favorite so far Carl..either that or the muntjac i think. I cant draw birds, can never ever get the head and beak right and they always end up looking like a rather odd duck in profile. More coming soon?

Thanks alotIcon_biggrin
More drawings? or more bird drawings? if the former than i expect so,i`ve fallen in love with a fox and the moment Icon_lol so he/shes gonna take a bit of me time upIcon_winkIcon_biggrin,and also am doing (spruce and pine) cone collecting (new hobby), and other things but yer if i get the time, i already know my next picture/painting, and it`s going to be awesome when it`s done.
But if you mean bird paintings i don`t have any planned unless you wanted me to try and draw/paint a perticualr one.

RE: Blue Tit Drawing

A puffin would be good. And a kingfisher would be pretty.

RE: Blue Tit Drawing

Icon_lol These two wil have to be before your tortoise as the TT is more detailed so will take longer, but when i get some time i`ll give them a go.
