Bird's nest

During the summer I have many birds nest in my garden but this year I am lucky enough to have a robin nest quite close to the ground so I can reach.

I would like to take some pictures of the nest and see how they're doing. However the nest is behind quite thick bush, so does anyone have any ideas how to get close without frightening the parents?

Can you set up the camera on a tripod, and leave it sitting so they get used to it? And is it possible to take photos remotely?

I was lucky , the pics that I took the other day was because it was next to a sliding window. I waited for mother bird to go & then popped my head out.I didn't disturb the foliage though. The little birds are now hopping about the enclosed garden (6m square) which if you think about it has worked out fine as they are not going very far. We have all stayed out the garden also & as long as the odd cat or magpie doesn't visit they will soon be off .

I wouldn't try and start digging around in the hedge to get a shot, you might get an angry robin in your face very quickly! If it was me, I would wait until the mother had gone and then try and find an angle through the foliage to get a picture. If you can't find an angle, It might be best to leave it because you don't want to disturb the birds.

Did you manage to get some pictures of the nest? I would love to see them if you managed too without disturbing the nest/
