Birding in North Norfolk

Myself and four others spent a fabulous day in Norfolk on Sunday. It was a hell of a drive through the night from Cornwall but well worth it. It was a sunny, albeit windy day, typical of the north Norfolk coast in winter. The place was buzzing with birdwatchers (has EVERYONE got a Dslr with a big lense these days!) We managed to see 103 species, including some real rarities. I will be updating my blog with a trip report and photos soon.

RE: Birding in North Norfolk

On the occasions I've been to Norfolk I've always thought it is one of the most beautiful counties. Miles open farmland and woodland copses, I love it there! And although I haven't personally been birdwatching there, I've heard it is great for that.

103 species in one day is amazing! I can't wait to read the blog post.

I live in Essex and got up one morning last November at 6am and was on Hunstanton beach by 8am. It was freezing! Lots of opportunities for pics with my DSLR though, especially Fulmars.

I'd be interested to see the species list for your recent trip. I still haven't decided where to go for my 3 day trip in a couple of week's time and North Norfolk (combined with Minsmere) is a definite possibility.

Yes a species list would be brilliant, although it would take some time to make I would think!

I have added to my Blog. Sorry about the Sparrow picture. When i shrink it to fit, it goes all pixelly! I have mentioned the good birds, it would take me ages to put all the birds in a list.
