Actually, I think it is a Willow Flycatcher

If it is, you'd need to hear the song. Willow and Alder Flycatchers are virtually identical. They were considered the same species until the 1970s.

I have seen, and heard both of these flycatchers.

RE: Bird Quiz

No correct guesses so far guys. It is an American Warbler, but which one? Probably occurs more often in the UK than any other (in recent years).

I'm going to take a long shot at Blackpoll warbler in winter plumage?

Wow, sorry didnt see this guess! Correctamundo Fauna! It is indeed a first winter Blackpoll Warbler taken on the Isles of Scilly in October 2005.

Heres another:

RE: Bird Quiz

Good one! Thought that might have been a bit easy!
Jamie steaming ahead on the scoreboard, three members sharing joint 2nd place and Kingfisher losing ground!

The scores on the doors are:

1st = Jamiewade - 55 points
=2nd = The Stoop - 20 points
=2nd = Nicola - 20 points
=2nd = Faune - 20 points
3rd = Kingfisher -10 points

To make it interesting, the next one is for 20points!!

RE: Bird Quiz

Nope. Not a thrush of any sorts.

Clue 1: It is resident in the UK, in much larger numbers in the winter.
