Best TV channel for UK wildlife

I've occasionally flicked through Sky's wildlife channels, and it's always seemed to me that there are lots of programs about foreign wildlife and not that much about UK wildlife. Wildlife across the world is fascinating, but my poassion is for UK wildlife.

So which channel do you think has the best range of UK wildlife programs? There is obviously the BBC, but their wildlife programs are quite thinly spaced these days.

Definetly agree riana, there are a lot of foreign wildlife programmes particularly about lions and great whites etc. Although these programmes are excellent and fascinating, I do think that UK wildlife needs to be concentrated on more.

And you are right, when their are programmes on they are widely spaced and only on now and again. The programmes to me are so good because the wildlife is close to home and you can get out and see it for yourself.

Ther was a Natural World prog. on a year or so ago and it showed a women walking through a woods and all the wildlife that she saw on her walk. It showed an amazing variety of life and it was excellent.

I agree with you as well, but I don't have a clue about what channel is best, I have heard that there is to be a new programme called 'The Nature of Britain' starting in October on BBC1, it's going to be presented by Alan Titchmarsh.

I like the idea of simple programs like that. They could be made on a relatively low budget, and I feel viewers could really learn a lot from that type of program.
