Ashes to Ashes
Hello everyone. Does anybody watch that reasonably new show called Ashes to Ashes on BBC 1 every Thursday night an 9:00pm?
It is a spin-off from the sequel Life on Mars. It is brilliant. In fact, it is just starting! Bye everyone!

RE: Ashes to Ashes
I love it - I loved Life on Mars - got both series on dvd now - I wasn't sure about this one, the idea didn't excite me, but I was hooked in the first second I saw the red Audi Quattro pull up & Gene Hunt step out in his cowboy boots!!!! It wouldn't work with him & it's a pity John Simms didn't want to be involved & where's Annie? Who disappearance hasn't been explained yet!!!!

Great programme. I thought that they'd have difficulty following up the brilliant Life on Mars, but I'm really hooked. I like the way that the story of Annie's parents is gradually unravelling and can't wait to see how it ends. The only thing I hope is that the ending isn't as confusing as Life on Mars.
And is there a better character than Gene Hunt on TV at the moment?

Who is Annie on Ashes to Ashes? Isn't the main character D.I Alex Drake?

No there is not! He is the funniest and most bestest (if that is even a word) characater ever. When I saw him at the start of the episode 1, I was so relieved to see him. He is awseome! The actor is called Phillip Glenister I think.

RE: Ashes to Ashes
Yes Alex is the name, the Annie I was talking about was Sam's friend/girl he fancied in Life in Mars - Sam's death was explained, but no talk or sign of Annie.
Yes Gene Hunt is one of the best characters ever created, as he can work at any time & in any place - loved how he was dressed up as Clint Eastwood last week, I was laughing my head off, how can Gene get any cooler? lol Yes his name is Philip Glenister, his brother Robert Glenister is in Hustle playing the character Ash Morgan (another brilliant programme, anyone watch it?) & their father John Glenister is a director - so it definitely runs in the family!

Oooops! I did of course mean Alex
But, what did happen to Annie?
I read an article in one of those TV mags this weeks that hinted that there will be a second series of Ashes to Ashes. The interviewee also refused to be drawn on whether Sam would make an unexpected appearance (probably not quite so unexpected now if he does).

RE: Ashes to Ashes
I hope he does, John Simm is one of my favourite actors. The Genister family have TV related jobs running through their blood! lol
