Well we do have Marsh Fritiallary (15/63)here, i found my first one ever this morning.
I do report my sightings to a site in my area, but its based around the North East of England and not tied to a specific site.
Had 3 Small Pearl-bordered Frits (16/63) up here yesterday.
Didn't get a chance to photograph them, but i will return and try to get them.
saw 4 marbled whites (17/63) yesterday - beautiful!, meadow brown (18/63) , small skipper (19/63) and a five-spot burnet moth, all in the same meadow
i cant tell you what sort they were but yesterday afternoon/early evening we were fishing down at languard point at felixstowe and we saw quite a few butterflys coming in of the sea? also there were loads of bumble bees going out to sea ?
Several Large Blues were on the wing at the public site at Collard Hill, near Street, Somerset on Sunday (22nd). I was lucky enough to see 4, despite the strong winds. Plenty of Marbled Whites there too.

Today (24th), Green Hairstreak and 2 Silver-studded Blues on an East Devon Common, despite there being not much sun.

I saw silver studded blue today - on a site where they have not been recorded for 11 years (I don't think anyone has looked) so Large Blue is (20/63) , Silver Studded Blue (21/63) and Green Hairstreak (22/63) thanks Terry

Nice newly-emerged Silver-washed Fritillary at Bystock Reserve, Exmouth early this afternoon.
2 Dark Green Fritillaries at Bystock Reserve this afternoon.

PS How do you type those emboldened figures on here?

Hi Terry

Silver-washed Fritillary (23/63)
Dark Green Fritillary (24/63)

Thank you Ranger, I will try this in a minute, as I perused the thread and can add Clouded Yellow 25/63 to the list which I saw in Exmouth earlier in the spring. This is a butterfly we commonly get in the autumn, but this was my first spring sighting. Strangely enough, another was seen in Plymouth the same day. I need to go back through my notes, and then I can slot it in its rightful place in the list below! Later edit; notes gone through, can't believe it was as early as Apr 3! I've therefore put it in as number 3 below!

Thought it might be a good idea to do a sitrep on what we've seen so far, to save trawling back through the postings, so here is a complete list of species seen so far:

1. Brimstone
2. Peacock
3. Clouded Yellow
4. Comma
5. Holly Blue
6. Speckled Wood
7. Large White
8. Small White
9. Small Tortoiseshell
10. Orange Tip
11. Green-veined White
12. Small Copper
13. Red Admiral
14. Small Heath
15. Common Blue
16. Marsh Fritillary
17. Small Pearl-bordered Fritillary
18. Marbled White
19. Meadow Brown
20. Small Skipper
21. Large Blue
22. Silver Studded Blue
23. Green Hairstreak
24. Silver-washed Fritillary
25. Dark Green Fritillary

Hope this helps.

Terry
