well i thought id have a go at making my own hedgehog house using recycled things, I used a large round terracotta pot, plastic piping and logrolls, you can see the pictures here...

That's a splendid looking hog house! Naturalistic, blends in with the landscape. Very nice!

My dad has made one, and it has a Hedgehog in it at the moment I think. It may have gone a few weeks ago though I am not sure.
Good job! It's one of the things I haven't got round to doing but would love to. Keep us updated on whether it is used!

What kind of things should you keep in mind when building a box for hedgehogs? Do they like certain sizes and types of woods or are they generally not very fussy?

Nice job, looks good!

In terms of types of wood etc. they are not too fussy really with the only requirement being that the wood is untreated. They also prefer a waterproof pad if possible but this can be acheived with a sheltered location or even using plastic sheeting over the top.
