So following on from the David Attenborough thread, which are your favourite wildlife presenters apart from Mr Attenborough? Is there any "up and coming" presenter that is anywhere near as enjoyable to listen to as him?

Bill Oddie I think does an OK job on Spring/Autumn watch. Although I know some people aren't big fans to put it mildly!
I like the programmes steve leonard does, charlotte ulnenbrook(or somethin 2 dat effect) also keeps me interested. The big cat week presenters present big cat week very well always exciting to watch.
Kate Humble and Bill Odie make a great pair on the Autumn/Spring watch series; they both know exactly what they are talking about Icon_smile
A very hard act to follow.
I think Simon King has the pedigree to take on the mantle though.
I can't watch Alan Titchmarsh- Pebble Mill, Groundforce and Gardener's World: fine, anything else: not good
Chris Packham seems to have deserted the UK but he was positioning himself.
Nick Baker seems to have gone off on a bit of tangent although his last series was good watching.
Simon King is a definite candidate, but you're right it is a very hard act to follow. One presenter I just thought of who is definitely not is Rolf Harris!
Ho Ho.

Jeremy Clarkson?
Jeremy, as much as I like him on Top Gear, is definitely not the most sympathetic to wildlife and environment causes to put it mildly! Icon_biggrin

I haven't seen anyone who manages to give the same impression of knowledge and passion yet.
Simon King for me. (until i get discovered anyway!!Icon_cheesygrin)

Yeah, Simon is a good man. He got married just before Autumn Watch didn't he? It was all over the Autumn Watch forum. Did anybody else participate in the Autumn/Spring Watch forum?

Johnny Kingdom-the man is an absolute legend, he loves wildlife.
My vote goes to Cornwall Birder Icon_biggrin

I haven't heard of Johnny Kingdom The Stoop, what programs has he been in?
Johnny Kingdom did the program "A year on Exmoor" which I didnt see, but heard was good. He's now back on BBC2 according to his website, I think with the same series?
I didn't much rate "a year on exmoor" Icon_sad but watched Johnny last night and really enjoyed itIcon_smile. He just takes a bit of getting used to. I think the series is Johnny's kingdom or something similar. He has bought a large piece of land with woodland and meadows and is managing it as a nature reserve.

I think that there is room for a wide variety of presenters to cater for a variety of tastes.
I think I would make a good wildlife presenter as I am very enthusiastic!
I think being a wildlife presenter, or being on a team that makes wildlife documentaries would be a dream job for me. What could be better than spending your life working with amazing animals and getting paid for it? Icon_biggrin
