Did anyone else feel the earthquake last night? I think it happened about 1 in the morning. I woke up with my bed shaking, at first as I live near a train track I thought it was a loud train shaking it (which happens sometimes) but couldn't hear one. I was half asleep so I barely had time to think "that's strange" before dropping off again.

This morning I woke to find there had been a small earthquake!
Felt nothing here in Buxton Spa.
Felt it here in Derbyshire around 1a.m.It rattled ornaments and things shook.
My daughter was still up on her computer ,it really scared her
Felt nothing here in East Surrey, although the way I sleep that's not all that surprising Icon_smile The first I knew about it was when I turned the news on.
I certainly felt down here in Gloucestershire.
First of all the door on my airing cupboard was rattling and the water in the hot water tank was making very strange noises, and then I realized that the bed was making me shake, it was like being in a large jelly. Icon_eek It was a bit scary, as I have never experienced that before. Mind you it will give us all something to talk about for a bit Icon_lol
I think it would take an earth-quake right under me to wake me up.Icon_lol

Just glad to hear nobody was seriously injured
I was sitting in the chair at my home in Lincolnshire just before one o'clock, thinking that perhaps I ought to go to bed, but I was comfortable and didn't feel like moving, when I heard a low rumbling noise from outside, like thunder, but then again, not like thunder, and I thought, 'what's that'! Then things all around the house started to rattle, an antique plate on a stand fell over, a picture stood on a unit fell over and I thought, 'it's an earthquake perhaps I'd better move'. By the time I'd got out of the chair it had stopped just as quick as it had started. It had lasted 10 seconds in total. I looked out of the window at the street, there was nobody about, but most of the houses had lights on, and I thought, 'well I've moved now I might as well go to bed' and went to bed. The funny thing is that although things were rattling and falling over, I didn't feel any shaking or see anything moving. I had a good look around this morning to see if there was any damage but I didn't see any.
I felt nothing here, and nothing seems to have moved in the morning. Others around here have told me that they felt it though so I must of just slept through it.

That's really strange that you didn't actual feel the movement Dogwood. Some people have said that some parts of their house were shaking quite vigorously and others hardly moving at all.
Nothing down here, but my folks up in South Yorkshire said they felt it, it woke them up. I remember feeling one a few years back in South Yorkshire. Then the epicentre was in the midlands somewhere. Where did this one originate?
I think it was somewhere in the Midlands again. My parents live just outside of Mansfield, Notts and they felt it.

Some people have even reported feeling very mild shakes in Cardiff
I didn't feel anything in South Woodham Ferrers, Essex. I was sound asleep dreaming of birdwatching (No joke, I honestly was!) (Sad, I know)

In north Lincolnshire, 3 miles north of Market Rasen.

We slept through it again I'm afraid
