No sign of any as of yet, but there has been a fair northerly wind. We have now got plenty of Wheat-ears here and the Chiff-chaff & Willow Warblers have made an appearance.
It is quite strange really because we still have got quite a few Fieldfares knocking around, the geese and Whooper swans have been flying north though.
We are off work this week-end, and its nice clam weather now, so i am off to find those Swallows.
Well i found them, saw 3 Swallows flying along the edge of one of the sea lochs and also had 5 Slavonian Grebes (a first for me) and 3 Great Northern Divers.

Went to Marbury in Cheshire yesterday, there were chiffchaff, willow warbler and blackcap. The previous week we had sand martins flying over the mere, but none this week.
I saw my first Chiffchaff and Black Cap yesterday at hanningfield Reservoir in Essex.
Had a good 'spring migrant' day yesterday, with Whimbrel, Wheatear, House Martin, Swallows and Sandwich Terns. Also two Choughs at Nanquidno valley and 9 Cattle Egrets at Drift.
Yep spring is defiantely in the air, we even saw our first swallow yesterday circling over our garden (west yorks) - always a joy to behold and a hope that warmer dryer weather is on its way...
Great excitement in my favourite local nature reserve today. I went for a walk and there by the railway crossing was a little knot of birders with their scopes trained on the Oak Wood. I didn't need to ask what they were looking at, I could hear, the first of this year's Nightingales had arrived, and was singing its head off.

Had a few scarce spring migrants in Cornwall today including Bee-eaters, Golden Oriole and a Woodchat Shrike! I didnt see any of them, decided to spend the afternoon surfing instead!!

Lincolnshire. They breed every year at Whisby Nature Park, which is alongside the A46 near Lincoln. Going up to the Humber Bank today, hope to hear the Bitten booming, but the forecast is for a wet day.
I done a bit of volunteer work again friday over at abberton res the place was alive with nightingales great we thought as a school trip was arriving good for the kids to hear about 10mins before the school arrived all the nightingales decided to stop singing lol
Lots of Nightingales bellowing away this morning at my local patch, Lee Valley.
I saw wood warbler and redstart yesterday. I think they have been in for a couple of weeks but haven't had time to do my annual visit to the woodland where they are best seen. Beech just coming into leaf. I finally managed to hear firecrest so my ears aren't as knackered as I thought!
saw 2 swifts this am and a....dont know what it was flying with them it it looked and flew the same just a bit more bulky looking i didnt have any bins or scope cause i just out in the garden feeding the chickens
I saw a swift on the 29th also, common tern on the 2nd and sandwich tern on the 3rd
