Can't wait for them to come back up by me. There are two small breeding colonies around my village. One is on a giant colliery tip, they don't get much luck here, Motor bikes crush their nests, Cats and Magpie (large roost nearby) rob their chicks. While the other on nearby Farmland is doing well.
I really like the look of lapwings, always have done. Those are great pictures too. I haven't seen any for a while around here though.
I feel the same Squirreler, they are really quite pretty birds with great markings, they were again down at the rivers edge yesterday morning, although it was very foggy so photographing them was'nt too easy.

I see Lapwings all the time at the River Crouch, but I have only been noticing them for about a year now. I used to just be able to hear them, but now I see them all the time.
