Been to New Galloway it is a great wee village with a really lovely hotel. You won't be that far from the Galloway Forest Park then Tawny. I really recommend the Red Kite Trail saw my first one there by accident when we went in 2006. I agree I wouldn't live anywhere else but Scotland the wildlife, scenery and everything is just amazing.

Yes the red kite trail was one reason for staying at Dumfries and Galloway, really looking forward to that,although Aprilis their breeding time and it could be a bit quiet!!
