Wildlife UK Forum - Discuss the UK countryside and wildlife

Hope it's ok for me to put this on here, but I was browsing the Enjoy England tourism site earlier and see they have a photo competition. I was thinking that it might be worth some of the talented photographers on the WUK forum submitting the fruits of their labour, as I reckon someone here would have a great chance of winning £1,000.

I am taking a look through my photo CDs and will submit something, but I'm an amateur so know my limits!

Bit of a strange competition, this one, as the winner will be picked at random, so it's not really a photo competition. Also, the £1000 holiday is to be taken in the region where the winning photo was taken - so if you enter a photo from your area and win, then you end up taking a holiday in your own back yard.

Thanks for letting us know mymoggy, and welcome to the forums. It does seem strange that they draw the winner out of a hat, but then again if it was a real competition I would have no chance of winning so maybe that's a good thing!

I would assume there is some check on what is uploaded, but not sure whether that would just be on the grounds of decency!

Still, worth a shot and I have enjoyed browsing through some excellent entries. I guess everyone has an equal chance of winning, even me!
