Full Version: Unusual Coot Behavior

I was in London today, and I came across a beautiful lake with Cormorants and Herons and stuff like that.
When suddenly, to my right, two Coots were on their back (in the water) kicking eachother!
Does anybody know what exactly they were up to? Was it just a territiorial thing?
Ok I have finally managed how to put on of MY own images into a thread. Here is a picture of the Coots:

As you can see, they are floating on their backs kicking and slplashing around. They then stopped, and the one on the right ran on the water chasing the other one away.
Great action shot young man! Its a classic Coot pose for photographers! Your right, its a territory thing.
