We have Daffodils out on the roadsides down here in Cornwall already. Despite the awful weather we've been having.
I love the sight of daffodils, usually in spring but I've known them to be out this sort of time too. Despite the rain it has been a fairly warm jan this year I think.
A few months ago I would have put this down to global warming, and January does seem very early. But I was reading an article that reminded me that even though there is much evidence for GW, plants flowering early is not one of the, and it has always happened that some plants flower early than we expect. Especially ones like daffys that usually signify a time of year for us.

It has been very mild this january though. Im trying to remember what it was like last year but having trouble. Im sure it was colder than this.
It can be very easy to jump to the GW conclusion when seeing anything out of the ordinary these days, it's difficult ot too! Have to remember in the past when daffies have been out this early, although it hasn't been often.
We had daffies out in our garden in Devon in December - think they're still there, been too wet to have a look! Icon_sad But we do have wild snowdrops coming up in the hedgerows already - the deff first spring flower - I don't think I have ever looked so forwad to Spring this time round! Icon_smile
I think that Dafodils are growing in my garden at the moment
I haven't seen any daffodils here! Not much of anything going right now, and I've been out there looking, too.

Daffies to me are the first sign of Spring! and definately my favourite flower, but at the moment all we have is crocus bulbs coming up.
