A member named Riana and I have come up with the idea of posting a Photo of the Month Competition in this website.
We have been given the thumbs up from Xeract, the Wildlifeuk.net administrator to post such a competition.
The deadline for the competition will be on the final week of each month, so during the final week we can decide the winner.
Unfortunately the winner will not recieve any prizes, because it is just a bit of fun.

The winner will be informed through e-mail/personal message. The winner will also be included in a post on the thread.
On your thread, can you please give a name for your image, and if possible, include photogrpahy information, such as ISO, shutter speed etc. A new thread will be created for each month, so please be sure to enter in the right one!

If you have any further questions, then please contact me or Riana by personal message, and we will try our best to answer your question.

!!!!!THE COMPETITION DEADLINE FOR THIS MONTH IS 22/2/2008!!!!!!

The Categories for the year are:
January - Birds in Flight

How about this one for February:

Geez, is it Feb already? lol Icon_wink
Lol. I thought I might aswell put a thread up so people are prepared for the next months competition
Okay, i will start us off. This is my entry. Kestrel at Marazion Marsh, Cornwall. Taken with Canon 400d and Sigma 170-500.

Good picture there Paul. The Canon EOS 400d is the next camera that I am going to buy. Is it good to use?
Yeah it's great, but i would save up a bit longer if you can and get the 40d. It shoots at 6.2frames per second compared to the 400d's 3 per second.
Is there a higher number of pixels, because I know that the 400d has got 10.2 or 10.1 megapixels

*EDIT* I have just looked on a website and the EOS 40d is about £730, and has 10.1 megapixels
I've seen it somewhere for about £640. Keep looking. There are some good deals on the net. I wouldnt advise buying from the high street, far too expensive.
Heres one from me Icon_smile I could have entered it last month too lol

Red Kite, Gigrin Feeding Station in Wales, 1D Mk3, 600 F4L and 1.4 TC

Here's a female Kestrel from me

Taken at a private site in North London. Canon Digital Rebel/Canon 100/300.
